What happens at your trial?

Miss Gemma (or one of her classroom assistants) will welcome you in to the studio, and give you a small tour of the waiting area, studio spaces and office. (If classes are on, someone will pop out to say hello and show you where to wait.)

We will find your dancer a buddy and encourage them to come in to class together, where we will take register and introduce the rest of the class. The class always starts with a warm-up (a game or a follow along dance) and ends with a fun activity.

During class, parents and guardians are welcome to wait in the waiting area, in the off chance that we need you. We will give you a registration form to fill out while you wait.

Due to our child protection policy, we cannot have non-PVG checked adults in class. However, we totally get that first classes can be scary, especially for little ones - if we need a parent or guardian to hold our hand for the first part of class, that's fine! We encourage you to do what is best for your child. Sometimes it takes a little while to settle - watching is still learning, so if it looks like your dancer isn't doing much, they are still taking in vital information about the class. We often find that after 3 weeks,
Top tip: using neutral and positive language makes the transition easier for your child! Don't let them know you're nervous too ;)

After your trial, Miss Gemma will bring your dancer out to the waiting area and let you know how they got on! You will receive an e-mail with all of the information you need to know after your trial (including payments and uniform) the next working day.

What should we bring?

For your first class, we recommend wearing leggings and a t-shirt, and bringing along a water bottle. If your class involves tap, we have a box of spare shoes that your child can borrow.
