TAPATHON 2026
Calling all tap dancers – young and adult, beginner to experienced!
TAPATHON brings together people of all ages and abilities from across the UK for one exciting, inclusive event – all while supporting BBC Children in Need.
Tapathon is to be held on Sunday 15th November 2026 in hundreds of different locations across the UK, in support of BBC Children in Need. Tapathon is now a firm date in the annual dancing calendar, gaining huge numbers of participants nationwide.
Tap dancing enthusiasts of all ages and tap dancing abilities come together to perform the choreographed routines at the same time, on the same day. No matter of age or ability, Tapathon is a great opportunity for non dancers and trained dancers to unite.
A community event that is proud to bring all members of the family together from parents, grandparents, young adults and children to perform alongside each other.
Who Can Take Part?
All students from Primary 1 and above are encouraged to participate, and will be learning the routine in class over the coming weeks. Adults in our adult dance classes can also take part! No tap dance experience is required, so parents are welcome to come along to our adult class to learn this year's routine too!
How To Take Part!
Participants are required to pay a sign-up fee, which covers the cost of their TAPATHON t-shirt and certificate of participation, with a percentage of the fee being donated to Children in Need.
Children's Fee - £10
Adult Fee - £12.50
Sign-Up and payment must be completed no later than Sunday 4th October. Please send your fee to the regular fees account with your child's first name and TAP as the reference.
Dancers will learn the routines in class and be provided with a video to practise at home.
On TAPATHON day, we will have a rehearsal in the dance space (to be confirmed) and take a group photo wearing our Tapathon t-shirts. This photo is sent to the organisers to count participants. At 1pm on the dot, we all start dancing (completing the routine twice)!
The event will run between 12 and 2pm.
Where is the event?
Gem's Theatre Arts have historically joined forces with our friends at Dance Central Balfron. For the first time ever, we're excited to offer this opportunity at the studio in Dalgety Bay!
